The lord here is depicted with two hands in the yogic posture and it is believed that this Murti is Swamyabhu( self oriented one). There is another big Murti of Shri Yogi Narayana in the same garbhgiri installed during the Goa Kadamba period. The temple bears architectural resembles to the story Madhu Keshwara Temple at Banavasi. The Lord Shiva creator of the world is also situated at the same place.
