Halasi has many temples, but the Bhuvaraha Narasimha temple is perhaps the best known of them all. Sri.Bhuvaraha Narasimha Temple – Overview           Halasi was the capital of the Kadamba Dynasty. Nestling in a verdant setting in the Western Ghats, Halasi has many groups of temples – The Gokarneshwara temple, and The Kalmeshwara, Ramalingeshwra and Bhuvaraha temples. There are also references to ancient Jain temples. The currently standing Jain Basadi was built later after these Hindu structures. Visit To Halasi

  A visit to Shri Bhuvaraha Narasimha Temple at Halsi was the first Heritage visit through our college and opportunity to take the blessings. Halsi is an ancient town and the second capital of Banavasi kadamba during the 4th to 6th century. This temple was built and  5th century. The original temple was dedicated to Lord Narasimha. The lord here is depicted with two hands in the yogic posture and it is believed that this Murti is Swamyabhu( self oriented one). There is another big Murti of Shri Yogi Narayana in the same garbhgiri installed during the Goa Kadamba period. The temple bears architectural resembles to the story Madhu Keshwara Temple at Banavasi.
